When installing an up and over garage door, you can choose from canopy or retractable mechanisms.

What's the difference?

Canopy doors can be installed for garages up to 8 feet wide. The canopy mechanism is most often used for non-automated doors.

Retractable doors are best suited for garage doors that are at least 8 feet wide, as well as for doors made of heavy material. Double doors use the retractable mechanism.
